This seminar will discuss my efforts to characterize the multifunctional enzymes that construct macrocyclic peptide antibiotics from simple linear precursor peptides. In particular, I will focus on how my lab uses emerging mass spectrometry-based approaches to uncover new information on the biochemical properties of these interesting enzymes.
